CIGAR CONFLAGRATION.

The Whitehouse block in the town of Desden, near Zanesville, Ohio, was destroyed by fire, Oct. 26, including the dry goods store of G. W. Lemmert & Bros., S. W. Berton's grocery and residence, the post office and two or three small wooden houses. Loss $25,000. The only insurance reported is $4,000 on the Whitehouse hotel. The fire caught from the lighted cigar of a drunken man who had crawled into the hay in the stable and supposed to have burned to death.
