HURLED TWENTY-FIVE FEET BY EXPLOSION OF DYNAMITE.

St. Clairsville, O., While working Friday on the double tracking of the C. L. & W. railroad at Fairport, four miles north of here, THOMAS PAUL was fatally hurt by the explosion of twenty-three sticks of dynamite which was being thawed out.
PAUL was hurled twenty-five feet. Although terribly mangled, he lived for an hour. Others of the construction gang escaped with slight injuries. The explosion was felt for more than a mile away.

EXPLOSION

An explosion of dynamite Friday at Fairpoint near St. Clairsville, horribly mangled THOMAS PAUL, who was "thawing out" the explosive, killing him instantly. A large number of men had left the fatal spot only a few minutes before the explosion. They were knocked down and tossed about but none seriously injured.
