Santry, OH Mine Cage Accident, Nov 1906

SWEPT FROM A CAGE.

FOUR MEN WERE KILLED IN AN OHIO MINE.

Corning, Ohio, Nov. 3. -- Four men were killed and two seriously injured in an accident at Mine No. 1 at Santry today, the men being crushed in a mine cage and their bodies hurled to the bottom of the shaft, 150 feet below.
The dead are:
CASPER WEAVER.
JOHN HINDO.
Two foreigners whose names were not ascertained.
The injured are:
JOHN WRIGHT, both legs broken and internal injuries.
ARCHIE WILLIAMS, body crushed.
The men were ascending in the cage when the door caught against the sides of the shaft and swept them off the cage to the bottom of the shaft.
