Akron, OH Gas Explosion Of Home, Jan 1927

SIX IN FAMILY NEAR DEATH FROM GAS EXPLOSION.

Akron, Jan. 22 -- (AP) -- Six members of one family are near death as a result of a gas explosion at their home at noon today. They were blown through the side of the dwelling and in addition to being seriously burned suffered possible internal injuries, it is said.
The injured:
GEORGE BOGDAN, 33.
MRS. GEORGE BOGDAN, 29.
WILLIAM BOGDAN, 9.
FLORA BOGDAN, 5.
LUCRETIA BOGDAN, 2.
Investigation revealed that the gas had been installed in the house a week ago, but had not been connected with the stove.
In some manner the valves were opened without the knowledge of MRS. BOGDAN. She summoned her husband home from work Saturday to find the trouble. It is believed that he struck a match to light the stove, causing the explosion.
