Midland, OH Train Wreck, May 1945

LOCOMOTIVE CREW KILLED IN WRECK
Midland, O., May 22.--(UP)--The engineer and fireman of a westbound Pennsylvania railroad freight train were killed today when the engine and ten cars left the tracks.
The accident happened about 1:20 a.m. on the Pittsburgh-Canton, O. run at the Baird cut-off, about one mile west of Midland railroad officials said.
The engineer was B. J. Harris, the firemen, P. A. Hendrickson.
Three wreck trains were sped to the scene where the locomotive was lying on its side and ten cars derailed.
The cause of the accident could not be determined immediately.
