SEARCH MADE FOR COLLEGE FIRE VICTIMS.

Gambier, O., March 1 -- (AP) -- The search for victims of the Kenyon College dormitory fire waited today for wrecking equipment to tear down the blackened walls of "Old Kenyon Hall."
The death toll in the fire, which routed 100 students from their beds Sunday morning, reached nine yesterday, when JACK McDONALD, 18, of Hamilton, O., died in a Mount Vernon hospital of a skull fracture.
Hope for six others, missing from the college since Sunday, was abandoned by college president GORDON K. CHALMERS.
CHALMERS said "fire specialists" had advised the college to tear down the walls of the hall before beginning to search for the bodies of the six.
One youth died in a jump from his third floor window. He was EDWARD BROUT, 19 year old premedial student from Mount Vernon, N. Y.
Another MARC S. PECK of Fenton, Mich., died in a hospital of severe burns.
The RT. REV. HENRY WISE HOBSON, Epistocopal bishop of Southern Ohio, conducted Memorial Services yesterday for the victims.
Offers of assistance came from colleges all over the country. In Waynesburg, Pa., Waynesburg College students offered their prayers for the nine dead. Other colleges offered books.
"We're very grateful," said President CHALMERS. "It's quite wonderful of them."
The six missing students whose bodies apparently still are buried in the Hall's smoking ashes, are:
ERNEST AHWAJEE of Akron, O.
ALBERT J. LEWIS, 19, of Hazelton, Pa.
GEORGE PINCUS, 19, of Brooklyn, N.Y.
STEPHEN SHEPARD, 19, of New York.
COLIN WOODWORTH, 20, Jamaica Plain, Mass.
MARTIN E. MANGEL, 18, of New York.
The fire's damage was estimated by CHALMERS at $1,000,000.
