KILLED BY AN ELEPHANT.

Columbus, O., Dec. 21. -- M. J. MEAGHER, an elephant trainer at Sellsville, the winter quarters of the SELLS-FOREPAUGH show, near this city, was instantly killed by "Big Sid," one of his trained elephants. The big animal drove a tusk through his body, completely disemboweling him, and then jumped on the prostrate form, breaking his legs in several places, besides horribly mangling his trainer's head.
The animal was being exercised and suddenly developed a ferocious streak.
