Two Are Killed as Airplane Crashes

Bryan, Ohio, Dec. 12 (AP).-Pilot John Ziegler, Detroit, and C. J. Parker, Portland, Ore., vice president and general treasurer of the Iron Firemen’s manufacturing Company, were killed when a Waco Air Service plane crashed at Montpelier, near here, Monday, while making a landing.

Harry Avanfield, Portland, suffered a broken leg and internal injuries. The two other passengers, L. P. Teeple, also of Portland, and George Malcomson, Detroit, were slightly injured. Teeple and Malcomson left late Monday for Detroit after receiving first aid treatment.

The plane left Detroit Monday morning en route to Fort Wayne, Ind. From there the party had planned to go to Chicago.

Ziegler, it was said, lost his bearing in heavy fog and attempted to land in a rough pasture field, the plane turning over as it struck the ground.

Ziegler and Parker were pinned in the wreckage.
