SERIOUS RUNAWAY.
Sherwood Couple Are Laid Up With Broken Bones As a Result.
Sherwood, N. D., Aug. 25. - Probably one of the most serious runaways that has ever happened in this community occurred last Saturday evening, when William Sparling's team ran away. Mr. Sparling accompanied by his wife and a Mr. Whiting were on their way home from Sherwood and as they were crossing the railroad near the Farmers elevator a white dog suddenly made its appearance causing the team to run away. They ran about 60 rods when the buggy was turned over and the occupants were thrown to the ground with the result that Mr. Sparling had his arm broken just above the wrist and two ribs broken. Mrs. Sparling had one of her arms and a leg broken. Mr. Whiting was very fortunate and escaped with only a few bruises. They were immediately taken to town and their injuries attended to. This is a hard blow to Mr. and Mrs. Sparling and it will lay them up for several weeks if not months, and the have the symapthy of the community in their misfortune.
