Linden, NC House Fire, Dec 1943

TWO CHILDREN BURNED TO DEATH IN HOME.

Benson.----Two children---a son and a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elton Bryant of Linden, Route 1---were burned to death Thursday afternoon while playing around the heater at their home.

The mother of the children had left the house for only a few minutes. The children were playing with paper around the stove and their clothing caught fire.
