Pembroke, NC Hunt Hatchery Fire, Dec 1943

Hatchery at Pembroke Is Destroyed By Fire

The Hunt hatchery at Pembroke was destroyed by fire of undetermined origin Thursday night. Owners state that equipment and supplies valued at $5,000 were a complete loss.

It is determined that there was only a small amount of insurance on the building and equipment, not nearly sufficient to cover the loss. It was owned by Levi Hunt of Pembroke.
