Mill Practically Destroyed by Lightning and Tornado.

Mayodan, June 22.---The loss on the Mayo Mills, which was struck by lightning and a fierce tornado Saturday afternoon, practically destroying the south end, is being adjusted to-day. The damage will probably amount to something like $40,000 or $50,000 and is a great calamity, to the commission, causing hundreds of employes[sic] to be without work. Superintendent Ruffin will address the employes[sic] to-morrow morning on the situation and everything will be done to put the mill in commission again at the earilest[sic] date possible.
