CAR KILLS YOUNG NURSE.

Her Companion Hurt in an Accident Early This Morning.

Catherine Hooks, 18 years old, a nurse in the Lying-in Hospital at Second Avenue and Eighteenth Street, was instantly killed by a trolley car at Eighteenth Street and Third Avenue about 1:30 o'clock this morning. Her companion, Mary Gordon, 20 years old, was injured.

The motorman, Martin Kelley, and the conductor, Albert Davis, were arrested and taken to the East Twenty-second Street Police Station on a charge of homicide. The nurse's body was taken to the station.
