GIRLS CALM IN FIRE SCARE.

March Quietly from Wadleigh High School When Blaze Starts Next Door.

Nearly 1,000 girls, pupils at the Wadleigh High School in West 114th Street, marched quietly out of the school building just before noon yesterday in response to the signal of the big fire gong. There was no sign of a panic, though smoke poured into the halls from a fire in an adjoining building.

The blaze was in the kitchen of the flat of Edward D. Cuney on the third floor of the flat houses at 251 West 114th Street. It was put out with little difficulty.
