TWO KILLED IN RAILWAY ACCIDENT

Special to The Inquirer.

OIL CITY, Pa., Dec. 12.---Western New York and Pennsylvania passenger train No. 31, on the Olean and Oil City division of the Pennsylvania Railroad Company, leaving here at 8:01 A. M., ran into an open switch near Allegany, N. Y., about 11 o'clock this morning.

The dead are W. B. Patterson, fireman, crushed under the engine; Joseph Kidd, engineer, crushed about the head and injured internally, died three hours later. The train crew and passengers escaped injuries, but were severely shaken up.

The train was running about forty miles an hour when it struck the open switch and ran into a number of box cars placed on the siding.
