PAULINE RUSSELL DIES FROM LEOPARD'S BITES

New York, Jan. 17.---Pauline Russell to-day met the fate daily braved and coolly calculated upon by most animal trainers. A week ago she was attacked and badly torn by one of a pair of leopards she was training at a city museum. The infuriated animal would have torn her to pieces at the time but for a man attendant who pinned it to the floor with a sharpened steel pole.

Miss Russell lingered in a critical condition all last week. To-day she relapsed into a coma which was speedily followed by death. She was 38 years old.
