Syracuse, NY Bicycle Accident, Jun 1901
Another bicycle accident happened this morning on the old fair grounds, when Patrick McShane, a son of Charles McShane of North street, was run over by Frank Moore of Canastota. McShane with a number of other small boys was standing on the track around which Moore was sprinting. McShane started to cross the track and was hit squarely by Moore on his wheel. Both boys were tumbled in a heap and quite badly bruised. McShane received quite serious injuries, being badly cut and bruised. The wheel, a new Wolf-American racer, belonged to Charles Fitzgerald, an employe[sic] of H. B. Van Horn. Moore had borrowed the wheel while his was being repaired for the races this afternoon. It was completely demolished, the frame being warped and twisted out of shape.
