Sing Sing, NY Trolley Accident, Nov 1893

Killed by a Trolley Car.

SING SING, N. Y., Nov. 29.---Mrs. Mary Holmes, widow of Gilead B. Holmes, was struck by one of the trolley cars at the corner of Spring and James Streets this morning. She was knocked to one side of the road, and had three ribs broken and her lungs punctured by the ribs. She died from her injuries later in the day. She was seventy-seven years old. William Tompkins, the motorman, is not blamed for the accident. There will be no inquest or arrest.
