New York, NY McAdoo Tunnel Office Fire, Apr 1910

McAdoo Shaft Building Ablaze.

A fire last night in the office building of the McAdoo Tunnel system at Washington and First Streets, in which are kept the blue prints and maps of the company, caused some excitement. For a time it looked as though the flames would spread to the power plant adjoining. This would mean a temporary suspension of tunnel traffic. By good work the firemen confined the fire to the building in which is started. All of the records of the company were saved. The damage was said to be slight.
