New York, NY Train Wreck, Jul 1868

At 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon, as car No. 59 of the Belt Railroad Line was crossing the Harlem Railroad track at the intersection of the Fourth-avenue and Fifty-ninth-street, it was struck by the locomotive of a train coming down. Both the horses attached to the car were killed, the roof of the car completely torn off and the front platform demolished. The car was full of passengers, and was hurled a distance of twenty feet from the track, though, fortunately, no person was hurt. The Police could not ascertain who was at fault in the matter.
