BURNED BY PARAFFIN.

Child Stood Too Near Kitchen Stove at Canning Time.

Elizabeth Wilson, [ineligible] year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wilson, received serious burns at her home in Onondaga Hill this morning when several quarts of paraffin overboiled on the stove and spattered her chest, face, and arms. She is under the care of Dr. John S. Gray of Onondaga Hill.

Mrs. Wilson arose early this morning to can fruit. She was working in the kitchen about 8 o'clock when her little girl entered and asked if she could be of any help. There was nothing for her to do, so she went near the store to watch the boiling paraffin.

While standing there the paraffin boiled over, rolled off the top of the stove and fell upon the little girl. Her face, chest and arms were covered with the hot liquid.

Mrs. Wilson carried her daughter to her room and then called the physician, Dr. Gray said that the burns would not prove fatal but that the child was in a serious condition.
