Albany, NY Liquor Store Fire, Jul 1872

A fire broke out in the upper-lofts of the wholesale liquor-store of John Tracey & Co., on State-street, this afternoon. The origin of the fire is unknown, and explosion being the first notice of it [ineligible]. The second, third and fourth stories were partially destroyed. They were stored with whisky, spirits and alcohol. The firemen were on hand promptly, and, although there was great danger from explosions, they fearlessly entered the building and thus prevented a destructive conflagration. One or two explosions occurred after they entered the building, but no one was hurt. The loss of Tracey & Co. cannot be large.
