Syracuse, NY Mowry Hotel Fire, Feb 1907
BIG FIRE AT SYRACUSE.
(By Associated Press.)
Syracuse, N.Y., Feb. 11. -- At 12:45 Sunday morning, one of the most destructive fires known here in years broke out in the Mowry Hotel, which was completely destroyed. In the hotel were about, eighty family suites and a number of single apartments. Guests rushed out into the streets in their night clothes, leaving their valuables behind. So far as known, every one was rescued, although it is feared that some of those in the rear of the building failed to get out. The Mowry with contents was valued at $100,000.
Buildings adjoining caught fire and the damage probably will be another $100,000.
