New York, NY Girl Run Over by Wagon, Sept 1904

GIRL KILLED PLAYING TAG.

Ran in Front of Truck in Tenth Avenue

—Driver Arrested.

Seven-year-old Lizzie Burke of 59 Tenth Avenue, while playing in the avenue near Twentieth Street last night, was run over by a truck and was so badly injured that
she died an hour later in the New York Hospital. The driver of the wagon, Michael
Coyne of 285 Tenth Avenue, was arrested.

The little girl, with several of her companions, was playing tag, and ran into the middle of the street in order to prevent herself from being " tagged." She failed to notice a large truck going up the avenue at a lively rate, and before the driver could stop the horse she was knocked down and both wheels passed over her body
