CHILDREN SAVED BY FIRE DRILL.

New York, Dec. 17. -- Fifteen hundred children of all ages were aroused from sleep by an alarm of fire in the Hebrew Orphan Asylum, in Amsterdam avenue, before daylight today and marched in safety from the building. They performed their fire drill precisely as they had been trained. Then the teachers and elder boys, composing the fire brigade, attacked the blaze and quickly extinguished it.
