Mount Taylor, NM Private Plane Crash, Mar 1993
WRECKAGE OF PLANE FOUND ON MOUNTAIN.
Grants -- (AP) -- The wreckage of a twin-engine airplane was found Monday on the east flank of snow-covered Mount Taylor, and all four people aboard the craft were killed, authorities said.
The Beechcraft Model 58 was about one-half mile below the mountain's 11,301-foot peak, said Capt. Mike Francis of the New Mexico State Police.
"It's (the airplane) fairly intact right now from what I understand," Francis said Monday afternoon.
Killed in the crash were:
Pilot JOEL GUINN.
ERIC SCHULTZ.
IAN CHRISTISON.
KENT BODINE, all of Houston, state police said.
The victims' ages were not immediately available.
The men were on a business trip from Houston to Oakland, Calif., when the airplane dropped off radar in Albuquerque about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, authorities said.
The wreckage was spotted at 12:35 p.m. Monday by an Air Force H-53 helicopter attached to the 542nd Crew Training Wing from Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, Authorities said.
