Sea Isle City, NJ Head On Railroad Collision, July 1907
TRAINS MEET HEAD ON.
RUNNING SLOWLY THROUGH A THUNDERSTORM -- SOME SHAKEN, NONE HURT.
Sea Isle City, N. J., July 20. -- An express train bound from Cape May for Philadelphia and another passenger train south-bound from Philadelphia for Ocean City collided during a heavy thunderstorm to-day at Sea Isle Junction, near here. Both trains were running slowly, and no one was injured seriously enough to need the attention of a physician, although some of the passengers were badly shaken.
The trains had orders to meet at the junction, but the Cape May train ran past its proper stopping place. Both engines are the baggage car of the north-bound train were derailed.
