Bergen Cut, NJ Train Accident Aug 1893

Lost Their Lives Hunting for Work.
JERSEY CITY, N. J., Aug. 6.-- PETER J. KELLY, thiry-six years old, of 207 Avenue C. New-York, and PETER O'BRIEN, forty years old, of Oak Street, Philadelphia, were returning from Newark to this city on foot last night. They walked on the track of the Pennsylvania Railroad, and while passing through the Bergen Cut were struck by a train.
O'Brien was taken to Christ's Hospital, where he died this morning. Kelly is at the City Hospital. There is no hope of his recovery.
The men Had been to Newark to look for work, but were unsuccessful.
