Morristown, NJ Dover Mountains Fire, Nov 1896
Dover Mountain Woods Ablaze.
MORRISTOWN, N. J., Nov. 20.---The southerly slope of the Dover Mountains was devastated yesterday by a fierce fire. Many hundred acres of valuable timber land were destroyed, and it was feared at one time that the residences of Richard McCurdy, President of the Mutual Life Insurance Company, and Richard Granniss would be consumed. A change in the direction of the wind saved the dwellings.]
