FIRE AND EXPLOSION IN MILLS OF DUPONT POWDER CO.

GIBBSTOWN, N. J., Feb. 5.---Fire was discovered at 3:45 this morning in the Starch Building of the Dupont Powder Company, which is used for mixing and storage purpose. The night force of twenty men centered their efforts on soving surrounding property. At 4:30 an explosion occurred. Three buildings were destroyed. No loss of life. Damage $6,000. The shock was felt for fifty miles.
