THREE DROWNED.
NEWTON, N. J., Aug. 8.---- JAMES JOHNSON, 21 of Jersey City; HARRIET SLINKARD, 16, and HELEN BLOOMER, 18, both of Brooklyn, were drowned while bathing in the lake here. With a girl on either arm Johnson was clinging to a raft moored near the shore in what was supposed to be water reaching to their waists.
