Concord, NH Fire, Nov 1866

Saturday evening last, a fire broke out at Concord, among a lot of wooden buildings in the rear of Downing's old carriage manufactory, and for a time threatened to become very disastrous. After two hours hard work the firemen got the flames under control, saving the Central and City Blocks and other valuable property. The buildings destroyed were Downing's old shop; Corning's livery stable; J. G. Wyatt's fish market on Warren street, and two dwelling houses to the west of it---one of them owned by James R. Hill and the other by Mr. Rowell; a third house, occupied by W. W. Virgin, was also about ruined. The loss is estimated at $15,000. The cause of the fire is unknown.
