Lake Village, NH Drowning, Aug 1867

DROWNED.----George, son of Mr. George Lane, aged 8 years, was drowned while fishing near Cole's Machine Shop, at Lake Village, Tuesday, accidentally falling into the Winnipiseogee River. His father and nearly a hundred workmen were a few rods distant at the time, but the water at that place is so rapid that, although they heard his cry, it was impossible to save the little fellow.-----Monitor
