Manchester Man Saved From Drowning In Merrimack Sunday

PULLED FROM SOUHEGAN RIVER; NO ILL EFFECTS

Merrimack, July 17---A Manchester man was a near drowning victim while swimming yesterday afternoon in the Souhegan river not far from the bridge on Route 3.

Clark Huntington, 31, of 321 Wilson st., Manchester, was pulled from the river at about 1 pm yesterday when his struggles were noticed by friends and other swimmers.

State Trooper William Esson of Nashua rushed him to a Merrimack physician immediately. However, the doctor was found to be away at the time and since Huntington had apparently recovered from the effects of his mishap, he was released.
