Nashua, NH Circus Accident, Jul 1893

Killed in Barnum's Circus.

NASHUA, N. H., July 3.---MICHAEL J. GIBBONS, an employe[sic] of Barnum's circus, was killed to-night. At the close of the chariot races, just as the chariots were leaving the ring, Gibbons started to run across the ring and one of the chariots struck him, knocking him down and running over his back. He got up, started to run and was struck by another chariot, which ran over his neck. He lived about nine minutes, He joined the circus in Boston, and lived in Paterson, N. J.
