Reno, NV Orr Ditch Drowning, Jun 1938

MAN DROWNS IN ORR DITCH
Charles Glover, a resident of Reno for the past fifteen years, was drowned at an early hour this morning when he accidentally fell into the Orr ditch which flows pas this cabin on Maple street. Neighbors heard the man call for help shortly after 3:00 a. m. and notified the police who patrolled the ditch bank for two hours before the body was finally discovered floating in the ditch at the rear of the university.
An inquest will be held tomorrow afternoon at four o’clock and funeral arrangements will be announced later by the O’Brien & Nugent Company.
Mr. Glover was born sixty-eight years ago in Pennsylvania and for many years was employed at various Western lumber camps. He came to Reno about fifteen years ago. Surviving are a son, Lloyd Glover of Dawson, Pa., and two brothers, William Nicla of Confluence, Pa., and Bruce Nicla of Piedmont, Md.
