BOMBER CRASH KILLS CREW OF 5.

Sioux City, Ia. (AP) -- A B-26 medium bomber from the Dodge City, Kas., air base crashed and exploded late Tuesday night in a field near Dakota City, Neb., the commanding officer of the Sioux City air base announced. The crew of five was killed.
The plane, on a combat training flight, had stopped at the Sioux City air base and crashed shortly after the takeoff.
The Dodge City air field said the dead were:
Capt. CARL W. FLIERSMAN, 23, pilot, Cedar Rapids, Ia.
Second Lt. GEORGE G. ALFORD, 23, student copilot, Lewiston, Idaho.
Second Lt. WILLIAM J. COFFEY, 20, student copilot, Johnstown, Pa.
Cpl. LAWRENCE J. BEISTER, 22, engineer, son of Max F. Beister, Omaha, Neb.
Pfc. FRANK J. PAPPAS, 21, radio operator, Syracuse, N.Y.
