TEN DIE IN CHAPPELL CRASH.
Alliance, Neb. (AP) -- A B-24 bomber on an operational flight from the Lincoln Army Air Field crashed near Chappell, Neb., about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, Col. Tracy W. Dorsett, commander of the Alliance air base, announced Wednesday night. Ten crewmen were killed, but Colonel Dorsett said the names were being withheld until next of kin have been notified. Nine of the victims have been identified, and one awaits identification upon arrival of the bodies in Alliance.

Alliance, Neb. (AP) -- Names of the ten crewmen killed Wednesday when a B-24 bomber from the Lincoln, Neb., Air Field crashed near Chappell, Neb., were disclosed Thursday by Col. Tracy W. Dorsett, commander of the Alliance air base.

Staff Sgt. ROBERT E. ROGERS, engineer, son of Mrs. Emma R. Davis, Route 2, Camilla, Ga.
Staff Sgt. VANCE C. JOHNSON, radioman, son of Emil S. F. Johnson, Stromsburg, Neb.
Sgt. RALPH A. YOUNG, gunner, son of Mrs. Mattie E. Young, Miami, Okla.
Sgt. PETER L. ZAMBUTO, gunner, son of Luigi Zambuto, Rochester, N.Y.
Sgt. BERNARD T. CLARK, gunner, husband of Mrs. Veronica Clark, Bronx, N.Y.
