Bruning, Neb. (AP) -- Second Lt. WILLIAM D. HEARN, pilot, son of Walter F. Hearn, Monrovia, Calif., was killed Wednesday when the P-47 Thunderbolt plane he was flying crashed 23 miles west of Norfolk, Neb., Lt. Col. C. B. Stead, commander of the Bruning Air Base, said.
