NEBRASKAN DIES IN PLANE CRASH.

McCook, Neb. (AP) -- One Nebraskan was killed and another injured when a four engine bomber from the McCook army air field crashed 11 miles west of Maywood, Neb., early Tuesday, Col. John R. Kane, base commander, announced.
Five persons were killed, four injured and five others escaped unhurt in the crash, Colonel Kane said, adding that the cause of the crash, which completely wrecked the plane, was unknown.
Those killed in the crash were identified as:
Capt. CHARLES L. HYNDS, commander, Waco, Texas.
First Lt. EARLE R. G. SMITH, navigator, Ocean Grove, N.J. and McCook, Neb.
First Lt. VIRGIL H. JORDAN, passenger, St. Louis, Mo.
First Lt. CHARLES P. ARMSTRONG, passenger, Winchester, Mass.
T/Sgt. BERNARD P. GREELEY, passenger, South Hamilton, Mass.
The injured (survivors) were:
Second Lt. GEORGE M. WITHEE, pilot, Long Beach, Calif.
First Lt. ALLAN J. NUSZLOCH, navigator, Lewiston, Minn. (injured).
Cpl. WILLIAM H. DAVIES, radio operator, Laredo, Texas.
Cpl. LEON S. MIECZKOWSKI, scanner, Wilson, Conn. (injured).
Cpl. RICHARD A. MIESCH, scanner, Detroit, Mich.
Lt. Col. HADLEY V. SAEHLENOU, pilot, Cozad, Neb.
Maj. GERALD J. CROSSON, copilot, Staten Island, N.Y.
T/Sgt. FRANCIS K. HORAN, engineer, Green Bay, Wis. (injured).
Cpl. IRVIN O. MERTZ, passenger, St. Louis, Mo. (injured).
