CYCLONE HITS TWO MO. TOWNS.

SEVERAL DWELLINGS DEMOLISHED AT NEW CAMBRIA.

THE TOWN OF DeLASSUS ALMOST TOTALLY DESTROYED -- A NUMBER OF PERSONS WERE INJURED.

Brookfield, Mo., April 15. -- A severe storm struck the eastern part of Linn county Saturday afternoon at Bucklin. It took the form of a cloudburst, six inches of rain falling in a few minutes. This was the fore-runner of wind and a storm that became a tornado at New Cambria, demolishing the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy railroad station and freight house, a number of dwellings in New Cambria, unroofing two bank buildings, wrecking the Catholic church and badly damaging a flour mill.
As far as known no one was injured, but there were many narrow escapes while the storm was on. In some sections the streets are piled with wreckage of large shade trees. New Cambria has a population of 400.

Bonne Terre, Mo., April 15. -- Between 10 and 11 o'clock Saturday night DeLassus, in the south of St. Francois county, was visited by a tornado and the town almost destroyed. The Iron Mountain freight house was blown away and the passenger depot damaged.
Several persons were injured by falling timbers, but so far as known there were no deaths. All wires are down in the path of the wind, which was moving northward from DeLassus in the direction of Farmington, the county seat of St. Francois county, and it is feared great damages has been done by the storm at that point. Farmington is cut off from all wire communication since the storm struck the lines.
