Three Drown in Rescue Attempt

Louisiana, Mo.,---(AP)---Two men, one of them a Methodist minister and a boy drowned in the Mississippi river near here late Sunday while attempting to save the 16 year old daughter of one of the victims, who was in distress in deep water. With others, the victims forced a "human rope" which broke when the boy's hand slipped loose. The girl was rescued.

The victims were the Rev. Walter Theobald, 42, pastor of the Methodist church at Barry, Ill., Roy Meyers, 40 and his son, Elmer Meyers, 12, of Hoopeston. Ill.
