TWO PAINTERS FALL FROM SCAFFOLD.

PLUNGE EIGHTEEN FEET TO HARD FLOOR BENEATH THEM.

ONE FATALLY INJURED.

SERIOUS ACCIDENT OCCURS ON THE W. R. NORRIS FINE HOME IN KINGSTON HEIGHTS.

While painting on the new residence of MR. W. R. NORRIS in Kingston shortly before noon yesterday, JOHN STETTER and HARRY O'LEARY, two painters, happened to a fearful accident. It seems that the two men, while painting the cornices of the two-story building, attempted to pass each other on a narrow scaffold. One tottered and in the scuffle to save himself the scaffold went down beneath the two. They received a terrible fall of eighteen feet to the gallery floor below.
Horrified spectators rushed to the scene and it was some time before either of the men could be brought around to his senses. MR. STETTER was seriously, probably fatally injured. He fell heavily on his head and arm. One arm and his jaw were broken and he received internal injuries in the chest. He was bleeding at the ears and mouth and nose when picked up. It is thought that MR. O'LEARY is not seriously injured, though he was badly stunned by the fall.
STETTER is from Lincoln, Neb., but has been a resident of Laurel for the past two years. O'LEARY is from Hattiesburg.
Both men were faithful employes and MR. NORRIS was very much shocked by their fearful accident.
