NEW ORLEANS, Jan. 11. -- Illinois Central express train No. 1 ran into a switch north of Brookhaven Wednesday, wrecking the engine, express, and mail car. Engineer BERRY was badly injured, and the fireman was killed. The switch had been thrown open by train wreckers. The overturned engine set fire to and burned the planing mill of the Brookhaven Lumber Company. No passengers were hurt.
