LOSS BY FIRE VERY HEAVY.

MILL COMPANY'S PLANT AND OTHER STRUCTURES AT NEW ULM, MINN., BURNED.

New Ulm, Minn., March 21. -- An alarm of fire was sent in from the New Ulm Roller Mill company's plant, to extinguish an incipient blaze, but the fire soon gained such headway that the entire mill was doomed within fifteen minutes, and within an hour the five-story mill was a total wreck, entailing a loss of about $40,000.
An elevator standing within fifty feet of the mill covered with sheet iron caught fire and caused an additional loss of $15,000.
The fire communicated to another elevator of about 20,000 bushels capacity and valued at $10,000.
A one-story office building standing to the west of the mill, valued at $2,000, also caught fire and was destroyed.
The total loss is estimated at about $100,000, including stored wheat and flour.
The mill employed about sixty people, and was one of the principal enterprises of the city.
