Four killed in a railway smashup.

Barrett, Minn., Aug. 30. --- Four persons were killed and a score or more wounded in an accident on the “Soo” road. The train was a regular passenger. Nearing Barrett there is a trestle bridge. The engine and one car had crossed in safety when the bridge collapsed, carrying down two coaches. The four persons instantly killed were as follows;

GUST BERQUIST, Hoffman, Mich.
JAMES L. LANNIA, Cyprus, Minn.
EDWARD SMITH, Dunbar, Wis.
MICHAEL CROCKETT, Ironwood, Mich.

The bridge had been inspected and pronounced perfectly safe.
