Duluth, MN Clothing Store Fire, Feb 1905

CLOTHING STORE SUSTAINS LOSS

Eagle Concern Damaged By Fire to Extent of $2,000.

Fire at 6:20 p. m. yesterday damaged the Eagle clothing stock and store at 321 West Superior street to the extent of probably $2,000. The stock was valued at #20,000, on which there is insurance of $15,000. The origin is reported by the fire department to be unknown.

David Casmir, owner of the store, stated that he closed up and left for home at 6 p. m. The building is heated by steam, and he said last night that he was at a loss to assign a cause for the blaze.

The fire was practically confined to a small space near the east wall, where the floor was nearly burned through in spots. A large portion of the damage was done by water.
