MEETS AWFUL DEATH IN MICHIGAN MINE

WOLVELAR FALLS 800 FEET DOWN SHAFT AND BODY IS HORRIBLY MUTILATED

Herald Special Service.

Norway, Mich., Feb. 6.---August

VON WOLVELAER, a miner employed at the Penn Iron company's mines at Vulcan, met with a terrible death today. He fell headlong down the main shaft, a distance of 800 feet. Nobody witnessed the accident but missing him a search revealed the mangled remains at the bottom of the pit. The remains were so badly mutilated it was necessary to sweep them into a box. A son met with an accident at the same mine and still lives with a broken back, a cripple for life.
