Detroit, MI Light Plane Crashes On Take-Off, Dec 1964

TWO PLANES CRASH; FAMILY OF 4 KILLED.
Detroit (AP) -- A Michigan family of five escaped with minor injuries from a plane crash Sunday. Less than 13 hours earlier another single-engine craft crashed in the Detroit area, killing a California family of four.
In Sunday's mishap, a plane flown by ROBERT C. HOLLENBECK, 35, of Bloomfield Hills crashed into a back yard near the Pontiac Airport.
The fiery crash Saturday night marked a tragic end to a Michigan Christmas holiday visit by an Air Force enlisted man's family. The plane crashed and burned on takeoff at Detroit City Airport.
Two Children.
Victims were: ART JEROME OLDRE ANDERSON, 26; his wife, DONNA IRENE, 28, and their children, MILES, 6, and PAMELA 4.
HOLLENBECK had taken his wife, JOAN, 34, and their three children -- JAMES, 14; CATHERINE, 12 and ROBERT, JR., 10 -- for a flight from Pontiac Airport.
Something went wrong with the wings control, HOLLENBECK said, and the plane crashed in the back yard of a Waterford Township home.
