The Fatal Cyclones
DUNDEE, Mich. April 13.----A cyclone passed over this town and vicinity, last evening at 7:40 doing much damage. It struck the village of Rea near here, and took the top off of the Methodist church and unroofed more than a dozen houses. The house of Jacob Hiser a farmer, was wrecked killing his wife, and fatally injuring him. The wreckage took fire and a hard fight made to save the rest of the village. The farmers suffered heavy losses by their stock being killed. Twenty-five houses and thirty barns are totally destroyed in this section.
YPSILANTI, Mich., April 13.----The report reaches here that the town of Saline, of fourteen hundred population in Washtenaw county, near here, was entirely wiped out by the cyclone last night.

Jacob Hiser
Thanks for transcribing this! Jacob survived the cyclone, and remarried. He and Emma Sophia Fredricka Schultz had eight sons, including my grandfather, Clarence Raymond Hiser.
And the report of Saline's demise was greatly exaggerated; it was a prosperous farm town with a vital railroad link, and is still a beautiful small town along US-12 just south of Ann Arbor.
